CALL ME, DADDY
IS OUT NOW!
This light and airy alt-country song will tell a story about her troubled relationship with her father.

Maxine Julian’s affectionate alt-country songs are brimmed with deft arrangements and bittersweet turns of phrase. She is blessed with an arresting, seasoned voice that faithfully traces her deepest feelings. Her music dares to get very close - on an autobiographical level - only to zoom out on a universal scale. In doing so, Maxie explores a wide spectrum of topics that travel close to her heart; family ties ('Call Me Daddy'), how humanity treats the earth ('2 After 12') and feeling trapped in relationships ('Who Do You Think You Are').
BECAUSE
Maxine is inspired by artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Madison Cunningham and Joni Mitchell, but also regularly by cinema and books. She wants to address important themes with her music, and navigate the listener through her inner journey with honesty and generosity. “Sometimes my subject matter is so charged that I deliberately look for lightness.”
